Lunch at the Hotel Laguna

Today was the day to take my Granddaughter Savannah shopping.  Her mother and younger brother came too!  The purpose of the trip wa a belated birthday gift for Savannah.  

We went to Laguna Beach, a location where I had bought clothes for her in the pas.  Lunch was to be at the Hotel Laguna overlooking the beach.  

No matter whether you dine here on the patio as we did today or inside in the dining room looking out the windows the views are fabulous.  

The food is good here as is the service.  But it is the setting that is really special.  

I ordered a bacon/avocado/chicken wrap.  

Savannah had Chicken Tenders it's Broccolini..

Grandson, Gavin (6 years old) came yesterday to spend the day. One of the plans was to have a kitchen activity.  

I've been using my bread machine a lot lately.  It's wonderful to have fresh breads with the small amount of effort it takes.  One of my cookbooks is Electric Bread for Kids.  He chose the recipe, "Sugar Cinnamon Bread".  

He went right to the sink (standing on a stool) without being prompted.  

He measured out the water.

He measured out the flour and other ingredients.  The only thing I did was to read the recipe. 

 

He put it in the bread machine and I only checked to make sure it was firmly in place.  

He especially liked being ble to lift the lid and watch the dough mixing as it twirlled around.
