My house on Achill Island

KMy island home for the month of March is more than ample.  It is a three bedroom house just for me.  Of course I only use the one bedroom.  The electricity is different.  The plugs have three prongs but besides plugging in an appliance or turning on the stove I must also turn a switch next to each outlet

The kitchen is well equipped but takes awhile to get used to. The coffee pot is a French press.  I had to e mail Keith for directions.  The oven is electric.  The wall switch must be turned on first.  Then I must find the corresponding on/off burner knob to correspond with the burner plate I want to use.

The view out the kitchen window is pastoral.  There are houses in view from all directions.
Eileen has small collections of rocks from the local beaches in many of the windows.

The starlings come each morning for breakfast and then fly away.
Off the living room window is an inlet of the Atlantic.  It is springtime and rains almost every morning but the sun often shines at the same time.  It is very cold out which keeps me from taking as many walks as I would like especially when it is windy.  Today Tom is taking me to lunch.  I made a quiche with local sausages for supper last night and had a piece left for breakfast.
