The parade is over and I thought the celebration also was over. WRONG!
Margie (my hosts sister) calls to see if I want to go to the pub for the post parade celebration with the families. She will pick me up at 9:45 pm.
We arrive and enter the private room where the families and support group for our band are gathering.
A dance floor complete with a small band (this one is not a pipe band).
Refreshments are provided as well as a dance floor. Donations are collected. A few people are dancing. It is a family affair. Many people who once called this home have come to support the event.
Donations are collected.
Goodbyes are said and we seem to be leaving. Actually we are just moving to the next room.
A few folk songs are performed as people scrounge for seats. Then the evening heats up! The audience chimes in. These are Irish folk songs and everyone but me seems to know the words. A few members of the audience have outstanding voices. Of course there are a few brews going around as well. The evening (or morning) comes to an end about 4 am. WHAT A Night!!!
