A Mammoth Adventure
Their visit was short. Yvonne, my next door neighbor was up also. We went to Mono Lake one day for dinner. I couldn't believe the size of the lake. It was the largest I had ever seen with only two small "dots'' of tufa visible.
Bob, Dorothy, and I forgot to mention their cute dog- stayed in the guest room. I had brought up a new pillow which seemed to fit the Mammoth lifestyle. We drove up to Convict Lake and the Village. Alas they only stayed 2 days but it was fun.

My neighbor, Yvonne was in her place next to us so we got together a couple of times while I was here. We drove to Mono Lake for dinner one night. I couldn't believe how much water was in the lake. Only 2 dots of a tufa were visible.
We both ate Pork Medallions which were wonderful and had Bananas Foster for dessert. We were only disappointed that the bananas were not flamed.
Tim was to fly up and meet me 2 weeks later but (as happened too often before) the plane couldn't land. It turned back to LAX and I turned back to the condo in Mammoth. He ended up renting a car and came up 2 days later only to spend the first day repairing the toilet in one of the bedrooms then madly packing to come back to LA. We decided to make the trip south by going through Yosemite. We had lunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel .
I was so glad the new owners decided to turn this beautiful hotel back to it's original name. It seemed welcoming to feel so at home here- where I have stayed in the past on several occasions and often eaten here. It was like being home again.
We drove on to Harris Ranch. Here we would have dinner and stay the night. It's one of my favorite spots not only for staying the night but also the food in any one of the restaurants. And shopping in the gift shop is always fun. Food there all comes from the ranch and service is usually excellent. I hope to return again and again.
