Sunday in Paris

If you have ever been to Paris on a Sunday you will know that businesses including shops close down.  I learned though that the big department store- Galleries Lafayette are open.  Our concierge told us which bus to take and where to get on.  We think he directed us to the correct bus but going the wrong way.  It was very frustrating since it took up a good hour when it should have been 10 minutes but we finally got there.  There are at least 3 enormous stores- one the store for men, another for women, and a third for the home.  We started at the women's store.. Store windows here are animated in the same way I remember the store windows at Christmas were done in downtown LA when I was a child.

We did some shopping in the womens store.   The inside decorations were also spectacular.

There are 6 floors all together.

This is from the 4th floor.  We bought a couple of things here and ate a light lunch but it was nothing special. Across the street we were heading home when we decided to go Into the home store.
Here we saw beautiful spices.

And things we had never seen before.

We finally headed back to our hotel and opted to eat here tonight.

Karen had  Boar Stew.

I had Sole Meneure.

The highlight of the day's menu though was my dessert-

...Flaming Crepe Suzette

I shared a little.
