Moving Plan - Carlsbad Back to Mammoth Lakes

Moving from Carlsbad to Mammoth LakesMy the poor man for the car is totally loaded.  Also we are still in the middle of the covid crisis so the plan is to take food from here and avoid any stops along the way.  I'm not looking forward to the move but I am looking forward to redecorating Mammoth to make it more like home for me.

These are things I am going to miss: seeing the Pacific Ocean.  Below is a view from one of my favorite restaurants: The Chart House is just down the road from me now.

I will also miss my beautiful patio and my hibiscus:

I've spent many afternoons on my patio looking out on the park.  It was a perfect place to be outdoors and still be separate from the park because it had a low brick wall  around it.  Of course I will take the chair and small table with me.  Now I will have a view of the mountains.

I will miss my lemon tree.  It has given me so much pleasure and has contributed to many wonderful lemon recipes.  My most recent recipe of note was a lemon cheesecake.  YUM!  The crust was made with 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup almond flour, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, Gratedrind of one lemon, and 6 Tablespoons soft butter.  The filling was 24 ounces cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, grated zest of one lemon, 1/4 cup sour cream and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice powder (which I ordered from KingArthurFlour.com/shop).

There are many other things I will miss too- most of all being close to my family. Son Keith and his son Gavin come most often but others family members come as well and now they will have to travel farthur to see me but I am hopeful they will all come.

All Good Things Must Come To An End!

Howevery my blog will hopefully not end soon.
